Hello Everyone,

 

It is the first day of fall and it is hard to believe that it will soon be a year that we had our TCI exploratory meeting back in January of this year.  Time flies!  Below are some updates from the past two weeks.

 

Congratulations are in store for Helen Bolstad.  She is making a career change and will not be able to be our Marketing/PR Chair now, however she has a great new opportunity and I am very excited for her.  If you know Helen I will let her share the news with you.

 

We FINALLY were able to have our wine tasting event at Angelina’s LAST Monday night.  What a fantastic place!!  Due to the storms we really lost our steam and had less than ½ of our original RSVPs for this event.  However, we made some great contacts and found an excellent location for future events!  Thanks to those who supported this event!

 

We recently had our strategic planning session and I will be posting the information on our new web site.  Levi from Think Tank Solutions is doing our new site pro bono and the prototype he showed me looks awesome!  It will be live very soon! 

 

Susan Anderson, someone I have known for the last 3 years has stepped up and will be our Board Member responsible for Education.  We are meeting via phone on Wednesday to get the ball rolling on education development.  The next few months may be a bit quiet on the communication front; just know that the entire heart and soul of TCI is being developed behind the scenes!

 

Finally, several of you have reached out to me over the last couple of weeks via email and I have been lax in responding.  I apologize.  I am involved in some new change in our office that is keeping me away from email and I have not been able to keep up.  Please know I will respond, just be patient with me right now.  I will try to have most of your questions answered this week.

 

I want to thank all of the people who are so involved in the awesome culture creation of TCI!  Heather Serrano, Mary Warnkey, Meredith Parsons, Meghan Savoie, Debbie Sirois, and everyone else that I have not mentioned.  We are now a short time away from executing the very product that TCI is all about….Education.   Please keep your questions coming and your involvement high as we now focus on our project plan.

We hope everyone can make it to our “Night of Networking” on Monday, September 8th at Angelina’s Ristorante in Bonita Springs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It’s a great way to meet members in the community and for those wanting to know more, or serve a part of TCI, you will have a chance to talk one-on-one with the Board Members and Committee Chairs. The cost is $30 per person.  If you have not already RSVP’s please email Meredith at: meredithp@bonitabaygroup.com.

We also will resume our TCI meetings the first Thursday of each month in October. (next date Oct. 2nd) We will move the venue around the area at different locations so everyone can participate (regardless of geographic location).

Hi Everyone,

We had a productive retreat, setting 5 Year Plan Goals, Our Mission, and Our Core Values. We are now moving forward with the education program, which involves developing the necessary content.

A few recent TCI highlights:

- Our target age is now the 20’s and 30’s to appeal to a wider range of young women.

- The Marketing and PR Committee has merged into one with Helen as the Chair.

-We will have our first pilot program before March 31st and our first programs next year.

Please know we are having our “Night Of Networking” open to the public at Angelina’s Ristorante in Bonita Springs on Monday, September 8, 2008 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Reservations are Required by September 3, 2008 and the cost of $30 per person will be collected at the door.  Please contact Meredith at meredithp@bonitabaygroup.com or 239.390.1283 to RSVP.

Everyone is invited to attend and please bring a friend! 

Also, our new, ‘revamped’ website is in progress and will be up shortly.

Hi Everyone!
Regarding the TCI survey we have 320 Survey Responses, with 90 comments so far.  If you have not completed the survey, or passed it along, please do so. This is GREAT information for us!

It is a VERY SHORT 3 question survey, for women only.  While we are not statisticians, we do need a large sample size, so please do your part in helping us obtain as many responses as possible before

A Board Retreat is scheduled for Aug. 15, and a Chair meeting on Aug. 22. Board Members and Chairs please mark your calendars to attend these crucial events.

Summer is a great time to go to our favorite local restaurants without waiting for an hour (or more). Angelina’s Ristorante in Bonita Springs is graciously hosting a special ‘Night of Networking’ for TCI on August 18 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. There will be light appetizers and wine samples provided. The cost is $30 per person. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the incredible people involved in TCI, so bring a friend and tell everyone you know. Hi Everyone,

The next networking/informational meeting for TCI will be on Thursday, August 7th in Naples at 5:30 p.m.  (Location to be announced later.)  Please come and meet the other great people involved with TCI.

Lori Becker is the new chair of the Healthy Mind, Body and Spirit Committee.  Thank You Lori for your help on this important committee.

Jody would like to invite everyone to sign up on LinkedIn (www.LinkedIn.com) and register their participation with TCI.  LinkedIn is THE professional networking site, and while theoretically it works similar to Facebook, it is totally professional with primarily upper level professionals.  The important thing is to connect with as many people as you know, then when you need to research a company, you simply do a search and LinkedIn will tell you who you know, that knows someone, working at the company.  It is a fantastic tool.

In August we will be in the planning stages of bringing TCI to fruition.  It is highly important to fill the remaining committee chair spots.  The remaining committee chairs needed are:

Grants – Writing of grants to help fund our organization.

Administration – This is the group who will coordinate speakers, hotels, etc.  This is a VERY important group, as we cannot function without it.

Sponsor Relations – This is our outside ’sales team,’ who obtains sponsors, makes calls, sends emails, writes letters, and also contacts potential volunteer candidates.

Poise Content Development Committee – This team writes the content for the Poise, Posture, Speech Team.

If you are interested in being the Chair of any of the committees listed above, have a suggestion of someone who would be a good fit, or have any suggestions to add to TCI content, please contact Jody.

Hi Everyone!  I have several announcements to pass along:

  • Thank You to Debbie Sirois who is chairing our TCI Finance content team.
  • Helen Bolstad is chairing the TCI PR team and will be the communication liaison.
  • TCI Board meetings are now held via conference call, so there will no longer be a physical meeting the 3rd Friday of each month. 
  • We had a great turnout for the TCI Derby Party and things have progressed very quickly.  Our summer focus is on strategic planning and really fine tuning the TCI goals.
  • On August 15 there will be a TCI Board Retreat, after which we will push forward with content development.
  • Thank You to Libby Anderson who is getting the selection process under way for TCI. 
  • The TCI pilot program will begin either late this year or early in 2009, with the first official program to start late first quarter (or early second quarter) of 2009.
  • There will be no informational meeting for TCI in July.  In August the meetings will be held around southwest FL.  There are so many talented, giving people out there and we want to encourage you to come to these meeting to meet one another in person and help the TCI cause.
  • Please keep spreading the word about TCI, as we still need volunteers and will need even more for content development and the modules we will teach – with your help we will Make It Happen!

The next informational/networking event is next Thursday, June 5th at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at Gulf Coast Town Center.  Networking begins at 5:00, a short informational meeting about TCI will begin at 6:00.  We encourage EVERYONE to attend this meeting as it gives all of our people an opportunity to meet each other face to face and establish new relationships.  I can honestly say at 38 years old, I have met more talented, sincere, special people in the first half of this year working with TCI than any other point in my life.  Come out and fellowship with us next Thursday!
